Right Jewellery and Style for Oval-shaped Face
As individuals, we each have distinct features that make our face different
from any other. There are four basic shapes: oval, round, heart-shaped and
rectangular. In these articles, we will explore ways to identify our own face
shape and style that best compliments it.
The Oval Face
(*)
The oval face is considered the perfect shape. The proportions at the forehead
are not too wide, and the line from the forehead flows into high cheekbones,
then narrows slightly to a rounded chin.
Jewellery
Necklaces
Any shape necklace will work for you. A choker looks just as good as opera-length pearls or any necklace
that comes to a "V." Match the texture and designs to the outfit.
Earrings
Many
kinds of earrings could go with your face perfectly. S
oft shapes such as pearls, tear drops, circles, and ovals
are best. Dangling earrings look well, if they are not too long. Keep the size
of the earring in balance with your height and size.
Tiaras
Avoid
pieces with a peak at the top, which will make your face appear longer. Choose
a headband, side hair comb or hair pins. Accessorise to complement hair style and
type as well as the materials and colour of the outfit
Make
up
Foundation Accentuate your best features by applying makeup that will
bring out the centre part of your face. Use two different shades of foundation.
Apply the darker foundation to the temples, outer cheek jaw line and the
chin. Place lighter foundation in around the eyes, nose, lower forehead and upper lip.
Blush Apply
blush just under the ball, apple, of your cheekbone, directly below
the outer part of the eye iris
.
Eyes
Almond shaped eyes - use sharp and
precise dark colored eye liner on the top eyelid, but it should not extend past
the outer corner of the lid.
Oval shaped eyes - apply any shade
of eyeliner thickly in the top eyelid center, and then a faint line under the
area of the lashes.
Round eyes - use medium and dark
shade eye makeup on the lower lid, a shade darker on the upper lid, and neutral
colors below the eye.
Hair
Hair pulled back or worn in an updo will show off your face the most. In long
styles wear a centre or side part with hair touching
shoulders. The short-layered looks with curls and a close extended nape will focus
on your face.
Avoid heavy
bangs or a style that is very forward directed and will cover your beautiful asset.
Fashion
Wide-open necklines or close-necked
collars will emphasise your face.
Celebrities with Oval-shaped faces
Eva Mendes and Megan Fox
were both gifted with the perfect oval-shaped faces
.

(*) How to determine your
facial shape:
1. Pull
hair back and secure with pins or a headband so hair is completely off the
face.
2. Have someone take a picture of you facing straight into the camera with your
hairline showing.
3. Outline your face with a marker on the photo.
4. Now look at your face shape in the photo drawing and choose the shape that
most closeley resembles your own.
